Guidelines for Planning, Construction and Maintenance of Railways (RVE)

Each RVE (the code is covering the planning, construction and maintenance of railways) includes the state of the art and is to be used by all persons involved in planning and construction (planners, engineers, contractors, administrations). The use of these “rules of the game” on one side guarantees a uniform quality level in terms of the planning, construction and operation of transportation and traffic infrastructure on railways, and on the other side it provides a high level of safety and quality for the users of the infrastructure while at the same time generating national economic benefit. More than 10 RVE are prepared and administered by expert committees. The members of these committees are working in the fields of construction, administration, planning, science, construction industry and infrastructure operation and work in an honorary capacity.
